Nephite Cowboy and Glamour Girl

I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. I only have 2 (yes, TWO) pictures this week. Our week was great, but we just didn't do anything all that out of the ordinary. Like everyone else in the world, we've been staying up too late glued to our TV while we watch the Olympics! We also went to a wading pool, ran through the sprinklers with our next door neighbors, and ate lots of Popsicles trying to beat the heat. Seattle has an average of 2 days a summer that get above 90, and we've had 3 days in a row. It's pretty toasty when you don't have air conditioning!! It's supposed to be cooling off a lot for the next few days, so that will be a nice break. :) Anyway, here are all two pictures from this week: Jake was in charge of FHE this week, and he talked about prophets. One of Connor's all-time favorite FHE activities is acting out scripture stories, so to go with the lesson Connor and Jake acted out the story of Samuel the Lamanite. Jake originally wanted Connor to be Samuel, but my bathrobe was a little on the big side for him to be wearing. So, needing a costume for Connor to be the "bad" Nephites that shot at Samuel, he came up with this. Ladies and Gentleman, I give you the Nephite Cowboy.
Ellie is totally a girly girl. She's obsessed with shoes, hair accessories and jewelry, and lately has loved putting on lotion. Unfortunately, this has also given her an interest in my makeup. I thought it was out of reach yesterday, but she climbed in the bathroom sink, grabbed my mascara, and proceeded to make her lashes lush and full. She actually got a surprising amount on her lashes and was so proud of herself when I found her. Eesh.
One thing I neglected to mention last week is that I now have a calling in my ward (as of my second Sunday in attendance). I am now the RS Pianist. It will be a great opportunity to brush up on my hymns again. I'm a little out of practice. :)
Jake finishes his first quarter of residency this week. It's been an intense few weeks, and it will be nice to have it over. We're heading off to Idaho/Bozeman this weekend for my brother Aaron's mission report. Should be a fun trip (as long as the kiddos cooperate)!

Ellie does look rather proud of herself, and points for you that you took pictures before cleaning her up!

I love the pictures! I will admit, checking your blog about every day, hoping for a new post can be quite disapointing when there isn't anything. I was so happy to see new posts!

Have fun on the drive. You guys are lucky--twice in one month. Want to drive to Michigan? Haha. Enjoy the time with family.

Love you guys!
