Return of the Prodigal Blogger

Well, my Sundays have been busy. That's my only excuse for not blogging for 3 weeks in a row. One Sunday I was driving back from Idaho for Clark's (Jake's brother) wedding, the next Jake was gone and we had company, and last Sunday we had people over for dinner. We've been having a lot of fun exploring Seattle. That is, the kids and I have had a fun time exploring Seattle Parks while Jake's been in class. He was able to join us for the annual Ortho Department outing to a Mariner's game. Connor was in little boy heaven. This was the closest I could get to having him look at the camera. At least he raised his glove for the picture. Stinker.
Connor and Conner seemed to pick up right where they left off in NC a year ago. They were having lots of fun wrestling a few minutes later. Connor (or some form of the name) seems to be the official name of the ortho department. There's Connor, Conner, and Conor. They're all around the same age, too. Crazy.
A somewhat decent family picture
See? Wrestling.
This is how Connor kept himself busy while I finished unpacking- by sticking leftover hardware into a piece of Styrofoam.
Ellie is such a little diva. We went to the park, and there was a day camp group also there. By the end of it, she had a group of "attendants"- about 5 nine year old girls that were following her around, pushing her on the swings, helping her slide, and twirling her on the merry-go-round. I'm sooooooo glad she's not a teenager yet.
Connor and Conner- same cheesy grin. I'm just glad I got them to hold still long enough so the picture wasn't blurry.

Seattle has a bunch of free wading pools in the parks. We went to a few last week. Connor apparently was so excited to go he put his swimsuit on backwards.
There's a great park in Seattle right on the beach, and that was our activity last Wednesday. Ellie was having fun hamming it up for the camera.
Diggin'
When we were leaving, Connor started doing a "wounded soldier" crawl in the sand. He had fun, but when you're already wet you get sand in some pretty interesting places. :)
The birdhouse is still under construction. Maybe we'll finish it before we move.

So, there you have it. I'm mostly caught up. I wanted to post a few pics from the wedding, but Jake took them on his camera and they're unavailable to me at the moment. We'll see if I remember to do it later. Enjoy the new blog design, y'all!!

I love the new design. It's good to hear from you again. Is that beach park by any chance Carkeek Park (or something like that)? My dad grew up in Seattle and loved Carkeek Park. I'm glad you are enjoying it there.
