Long Time Comin'

Well, I apologize. I was doing so good there for awhile, and then it seems like I go out of town and it throws everything off. Sunday ended up being really busy and I'm trying to be better about going to bed, so I didn't have time to blog (as you can see, though, it's late on Friday and I'm finally feeling the urge to blog, so no early bedtime for me tonight). So here I go - a brief recap of the last two weeks for our incredibly amazing family:Visiting Great-Grandma. Ellie looks drugged, but really she was just moving. Promise.
After being in IF for a few days after Aaron's report, we went up to Bozeman for a few days. It ended up being a full house (17 people under one roof!!), but it was a lot of fun. The kids were just exhausted every night from playing so hard. It was wonderful as always to see Jake's parents, enjoy the Bozeman scenery, and of course get some good deals at garage sales :).

This is how Ellie spent most of her time. The rest of her waking moments were making Papa carry her around.
Connor and Gavin. Nothing like cousins for buds (especially when you have matching pajamas).

We drove back to Seattle on Labor Day, stopping in Spokane for a few hours to drive around and get a little bit of a feel for the area. We loved it and it's now on our list of possibilities.

Jake's classes still haven't started (he has clinic, but no classes), so we were able to finally run some errands last week like getting our WA driver's licenses. Always a good time at the DMV!

We were so excited to get to go cheer our BYU cougars on in person. Our original tickets were in the student section, but one of the ushers looked at us in our BYU garb and promptly found us other seats so we wouldn't be risking bodily harm. Our seats ended up being great, though, so we can't complain :).

Ellie was so excited. . . she fell asleep about 5 minutes after kickoff. She stayed like this through most of halftime. I really don't know how she slept- it was really loud and at home she wakes up if Connor flushes the toilet during nap time. Kids.
Us at the game. If you look close, you can see the scoreboard in back :).

And now for the other updates:

1. )My job is now starting in November. There's some unit-specific classes that I have to do before I can start with the unit orientation, and they won't be doing those until November. It would have been nice to get orientation out of the way next week like origionally planned, but I'm not going to gripe about having another 2 months off. Our bank account might, but I won't.

2.) In a moment of weakness (or maybe imagined strength?) I decided to do a Half Marathon. I'm doing it with a couple of other girls here in Seattle, so it should be fun. I just needed something to motivate me with regards to exercise. My goal is just to finish (and not be the very last person). It's a pretty cool course - for those who want to waste some time looking at it, here's the link.

Well, I think that's it until Sunday. Yeah. Coming in the next post (just so you can start getting really excited) are Connor's first day of Preschool and the Washington State Fair! Yipppeee!!!

Hi Jake--
You may not remember who I am but we are distant cousins. Your dad and my mom are cousins. My mom is Toni (Stoddard) Phillips. I came across your blog while searching MHS sites. It looks like life is well with you and your cute family. I only read a tiny bit of your blog, but it looks like you are soon to be an official orthodontist. I have been a hygienist for 10 years. I decided that is what I wanted to do during "Career Day" at good old MHS. In case you are interested, you can find me at heatherbenson.blogspot.
