Yesterday was a good day. Jake got a new calling- he's now 1st counselor in the EQ. We thought we were laying low and flying under the radar. Apparently we weren't doing as good of a job as I thought we were! I'm excited for him to have this opportunity to serve, though, and think this will be a good experience for all of us.

Catchin' Up!
I used to be so good about updating my blog regularly. Then, I started working every other weekend and got pregnant. It's kind of done me in as far as being a regular blogger. Maybe someday I'll get back to where I was before. Of course, evil forces were at work yesterday. I was getting my kids ready for bed and was going to blog right after, but then the ceiling under the bathroom started leaking while the kids were in the tub. Needless to say, it delayed things a little, and by the time I had a chance to blog I was too tired to start. Really, I should just do it on Sunday morning since we have late church, but like I'm that on top of things. Ha. So, here goes yet another recap:
We all enjoyed Conference Weekend. I must confess, I spent part of Conference asleep because it was my weekend to work. What I did hear was wonderful, and spiritually recharging as ever. We really are so blessed to have a living prophet speak to us. I'm also glad we can download pod casts now, because I love listening to a talk or two while I'm folding laundry or doing some other kind of cleaning. It'll help me catch up on what I missed :).
We decided to copy my cute sister-in-law's idea and have sticky buns for Conference breakfast. I love these things, but don't make them very often because they're not diet friendly. I think after tasting some of these bad boys with a big glass of milk, though, they're going to have to be a Gen. Conference tradition. Yummy yummy yummy!
We were blessed with a few days of nice weather over Conference weekend and the beginning of last week. I think the kids and I have had a case of cabin fever lately, so we spent as much time as possible outside. I even managed to get Connor to hold still long enough at the park for me to snap a picture. .
I'm sure we were so totally original with this one, but we dyed Easter Eggs! Gasp! Ellie didn't seem to think she needed quite as much help as we did, so there were a few squabbles. Still very [messy] fun, though!
Yes, this is an egg picture in the bathroom. We used my hair dryer on those little shrinking sleeves, and for some reason decided to just take the picture there instead of setting it up a little better.
The finished product. Notice the UNC and UW eggs. We ran out of undyed eggs before we could do a BYU one.
The Easter bunny came to our house on Friday night. My family did our egg hunt on Saturday morning, and I liked the tradition because on Sunday it makes it a little easier to really focus on the Savior and his resurrection. Anyway, this is as good as I could get Connor to show me what the Easter bunny brought in his basket- Hot wheels.
Ellie got a pair of princess slippers. She's been wearing them non-stop.
Our Easter egg hunt was nice and short. We had a hard time at first convincing Ellie to leave the candy she already had in her basket long enough to look for eggs, but after she figured out that there was MORE candy to be had, she was all over it!
Saturday afternoon we went up on campus to the quad to take a look at the cherry blossoms. They were at their peak and were breathtaking. I think my cute boys up in the tree are pretty breathtaking, too. ;)
Not the best family pic we've ever taken, but not the worst, either!
Ellie didn't get much of a nap on Saturday, and she must have been pretty tired because she just laid down randomly on the ground while we were looking at blossoms. Jake covered her with his jacket, and then she started sucking her fingers and really trying to go to sleep. Funny girl.
The quad in all its splendor

I am totally disappointed in you... no BYU eggs? Where are your priorities?! You have every excise not to blog... life gets a little crazy with two kids, working, and a pregnancy!
You are expecting again? All I have to say is GOOD LUCK with 3! I've had my 3rd 9 months ago and I'm still trying to figure things out...so much harder than I thought! Congratulations though, really. You are amazing to hold down a job with 2!
What a good recap... thanks for sharing! I loved the cherry-blossoms; I'm going to go and put on some cherry-blossom lotion from Bath and Body Works now since I feel left out! Haha!
Congrats on Baby #3! I have no idea how you do it all! It was really fun to see what you've been up to lately!
