Grams and Papa

We were fortunate enough to have Jake's parents come and stay with us for a few days at the end of the month. We love having visitors, so whenever we get any we try to make Seattle seem like a really cool place to be. Our first stop was the Seattle Underground Tour. Grams had already been on it, but since the rest of us hadn't we decided to go see what was beneath the streets of downtown Seattle. When Seattle was rebuilt after the fire of 1889, the city planners decided to raise the streets up a story from the original street level due to flooding and sanitation issues. So, this is what is below a sidewalk downtown:

For a while after the streets were raised, the underground was still used for business (they installed an impressive skylight system that kept it light), but gradually it fell to disuse and became more of a storage facility (or a place for certain other institutions that belong underground).

Grams and Papa brought Ells her birthday gift a little early so they could see the delight on her face when she opened it. She still loves it.

Connor and Ells occasionally do random cute things- like holding hands sponatneously while walking along Alki Beach

We took a trip up to Snoqualmie Falls. You can't tell how pretty they are since my huge pregnant self is covering the falls, so here they are. I need to have this baby.

There's a fun train museum close to the falls, so we went to appease our train-lover. Any little boy's dream. :)

We had a great time and were sad to see Grams and Papa go. We love visitors!

Okay how unfair that you are still skinny while you are 9 months prego! You don't look swollen or fat one bit. You just look like you have a kiddo in your belly. So not fair.
