Jake and I had yet to visit any "real" redneck event in our time in North Carolina. The triangle area is really pretty civilized, but head out to "the borough" (Hillsborough) and you're getting into NASCAR country. Jake and I got to experience it firsthand at the Hillsborough Hog day on Saturday- an annual event with a Barbecue cookoff, music, and plenty of vendors. It was really fun, and we even went to Wal-mart afterwards to celebrate!

Connor and Emma's favorite activity- the playground!

Where the barbecue and deep fry action happens. You can see one of the big barbecue cookers on the left. We're really starting to love Carolina barbecue. . . mmmm. . .barbecue. . . .
So, this picture is obviosly not from Hillsborough Hog Day. I just had to include it because Mya is so darn cute in this picture! Connor was being a little forward, but I guess since he's 3 he can get away with it!

So, would you go again? I thought long and hard about going...but but decided I'd pass since Scott was working.
