Birthday Boy

Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday Connor was born; just this helpless little lump of cuteness; now he's a big, inquisitive little boy. Today, he came up to me with an envelope and he'd written the letters "RCNCS" on it. He asked me what word that was. Jake and I fudged something, but it made me sad. It was so cute, but just another sign that my little Connor was growing up. Anyway, I put together a collage for my nostalgic self of him through the years: They really change fast, and you don't realize just how much they have changed until you look back through old pictures.
Anyway, we did have a nice birthday for Connor. He didn't really have any friends around, but we took him to Leo's Place - Kind of like Chuck-E-Cheese but with really good pizza - with my family. He had a lot of fun, and it was really low stress for us!

In case you can't tell, he wanted a "Spiderman" theme . . .
The kids played lots of games - Ellie was obsessed with this bee game. . .
Connor traded his tickets for some "bad guy teeth". . .
And we had "A Spiderman cake with frosting that's the web" according to Connor's specifications. He was elated to get a scooter "Just like Parker's". He's been talking about getting one for a long time. He was in absolute heaven yesterday when he got to ride it around the driveway. Hopefully it won't mean a trip to the ER. . . . .

OUR OTHER HAPPENINGS

We got to help my family plant their garden yesterday. It's late in the season, but the weather hasn't cooperated until now. The kids ( and Jake and I) really enjoyed the dirt. :)

The kids loved wagon rides provided by Amber
Ellie liked to do her version of "hoeing," with a hammer
And Connor liked planting seeds.
He's really enjoying having his own personal playmate - Amber. She's awesome. Want to come live with me in Seattle, sis?
Ellie really likes to exercise with Jake and I. It's hilarious to watch. I guess it's good to get them in the habit early! :)
Well, that's all for us this week. Hope all of you faithful blog readers are having a good week!

Yah, watch out for those scooters, I think Parker hurts himself just about once a day on his! Good to see you guys made it there in one piece!

I can't believe how big Amber is! She's darling. So are Ellie and Connor, of course. I'm glad he had a good birthday.
