Low-key Week

Our week really went by pretty quick; regardless, I only have one picture to show for it. Ellie and I went and played with our friends the Ortons while Connor was at preschool one day. The girls had a lot of fun, and I always appreciate other adult conversation. :) So, here's the best picture of Ellie and Belize ("Baweeze" if you ask Ellie).
Let's see. . . other events. Connor got some Pre-kindergarten shots on Tuesday when he finally had his four year check-up. He was kind of traumatized, but really did fine. On Wednesday, I was getting him in his PJ's and noticed that one of his arms was red, rock hard from being swollen to twice its normal size, and slightly warm. I called the nurse helpline from our pediatrician, and they had me take him in to an after hours clinic at Seattle Children's. While we were driving I was so sure it was something awful like cellulitis, but we got there and the Dr. decided it was an immunological response. Apparently since he already has antibodies to the vaccines he got, his body reacted quickly to such a concentrated area of antigen (his injection site), causing the swelling. His arm is back to normal now, so that must have been it. Weird.
Jake started back into the full swing of school this week. It was really nice to have him home more while he just had clinic, but I guess that means we're getting that much closer to being done with school. I really don't want to wish away these next few years (and we really are enjoying our time in Seattle), but I'm just feeling very ready to be done.
I've been running like crazy trying to get ready for my 1/2 marathon. I ran 8 miles yesterday. Only 5 more to get ready for (and 4 weeks to do it)!!
