What better thing to do on a day off then go exploring? We really haven't taken as much advantage of living in Seattle as we should have yet, so after I got up (I worked Sunday night), off we went.
First stop: The Fremont Troll. Now, many of you who were in High school the same time I was probably remember this sculpture from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. I'd been to see it before, but the rest of mi familia hadn't. It had gotten a creative chalk decorating job by some local "artist," but it was still fun to see. The kids thought it was really cool that you could climb on his hands.
Next stop: Gas Works Park, home of one of the best views of Seattle. Check that out. It was such a beautiful day!
Up next: Trophy Cupcakes. We'd heard from friends just how heavenly these babies were, but were skeptical about their enthusiasm. We're now believers. I never knew so much yumminess could be housed in a wrapper. . . and to make things even "sweeter" (or worse?!?) there's one going in right across the street. Oh boy.

Oh boy.We tried a local burger joint (BurgerMaster) for dinner, then went home-very full and tired. Being a tourist in your own city is fun :).
Just a random pic. Ellie loves playing dress-up! Most daily activities now necessitate the wearing of a crown.
Other than that, both the kids have taken turns with the stomach flu, Ells' was yesterday. Joy! She seems to be doing lots better today and was able to sleep well last night thanks to a priesthood blessing. We really are so blessed to have the priesthood in our home!

Sometimes being a tourist in your own city is the best, you get to go home and sleep in your own bed and it's harder to get lost. Now when Clark gets an interview (cross your fingers) you can show us around.
The troll looks awesome, the trip looks fun, and the cupcakes look DELICIOUS! What a day!
What some great places to explore! Seattle looks like so much fun. Glad you are doing well...and that your kiddos are feeling better.
