What's my deal?

I'm trying to decide what my excuse is this time. Age? Being busy? Being blond? How about pregnancy? I think I'll stick with that one. Yeah. The reason I haven't blogged in 3 weeks is because of pregnancy. Right. :)
Regardless, despite my lack of blogging, we are still alive, and life is good. So, without further delay, here's the recap of our last 3 weeks:
While we were still on our trip we went camping for Jake's family reunion. Great time, but the weather was a little cold and rainy. We took a very short walk to see some waterfalls, and Ellie spent most of it pretending to be a marsupial in Jake's jacket while trying to stay warm.

Connor and his cousins made the most of it and had fun with umbrellas. Cute.

After the reunion was over, I got to go to a baby shower for my cute sister-in-law, Jessica. She's due in August, and my other sister-in-law Andrea is due in November. That's 3 grandbabies within a 3 month span. The family reunion next year should be fun :)
We drove back to Seattle, and spent a few days recovering. It seems like any time I go out of town, I have to spend 3 days catching back up!! We did try to play as much as we could though with some neighbors who were moving, and we took advantage of being near the ocean on the lowest tide day of the year:
It was freezing cold, so we didn't stay that long. We did find some really neat, big seashells, and some people from our ward who were there saw starfish and hermit crabs. I couldn't get my kids to walk out that far (their poor little feet were freezing in their water shoes), so I think we'll have to go back next year and come a little better prepared - with rain boots.
Our 4th of July was pretty uneventful. We decided to buck tradition and go somewhere for the 2 days preceding the 4th, but came back the night before. We went to Spokane again (it's looking very likely that that's where we'll end up- more on that later), so our kids were really tired from going to bed at 10 two nights in a row, and we were exhausted from wrestling them! We did head to our Stake's pancake breakfast, and even got ourselves looking patriotic to go. Shocking, I know.

We found a really fun pool down south a little bit, so we headed down there for a couple of hours after the breakfast. Ellie spent a lot of her time jumping in the water, wearing herself out.
Connor had a great time as well, but you can't tell from the picture. This is the only one of him I was able to get, and the expression on his face is a little funny because he was in the process of saying, "No mom! Don't take a picture!!" as I was snapping this one.
We had an exciting 4th of July dinner of hot dogs, then the kids went to bed at 8 and Jake watched a movie while I read a book. Yes, we're party animals. It's official!
My birthday was on Monday. Jake was kind enough to watch the kids while I went shopping for a couple of hours by myself (heaven!), and then Papa John's provided dinner while Trophy cupcakes took care of my birthday cake. Yum-o. Jake and I went out for dinner on Wednesday, so my actual birthday celebrations have gone on for most of this week. I don't mind, though. Thanks for all the well-wishes, everyone!
The ortho department did the annual Mariner's night on Thursday, so we got to see them beat the Texas rangers. I'm not a baseball fanatic by any stretch of the imagination, but it is fun to go. The kids seemed to be more entertained by the snacks, music, and other children present than by the game itself, but we had a great time. You can see how much Ellie enjoyed her cotton candy!
I actually got Connor to look at me for a picture. It's becoming rare, so take a good look, y'all.
Another rarity - a family picture with all of us looking at the camera (ok, at least in the general direction.)The ortho department also had its annual picnic this week. The kids had a great time running around the park, and spent a lot of time playing baseball in the empty wading pool.
Wow. I am officially caught back up. Hopefully it won't be another 3 weeks before I return. .

Wow, we've been here 2 months already and we haven't gotten together yet!! WE love it here, by the way!!! We were thinking of heading up to the Arboretum either this weekend or next. Maybe we could get together then if you guys are available? Are you sick of showing people UW campus, because that would be kind of fun too.
Of course, on weekdays, me and Eli are free every day of the week :) so if you and the kiddos want to get together. Email me and let's set something up: kgallup(at)gmail.com

Sweet Abby, Happy Birthday! I thought of you that day and was on my way to call you, but then some child had an "emergency" and I forgot. I'm sorry. I'm sure you enjoyed your cupcakes.

There's no excuses for not blogging. Especially when pregnant. Did I tell you we're due the exact same week? You're making ortho specialty look fun...but we're not counting on it. We're officially rising third years! Whoa.
