Our Princess' Adventures Around the Big White Throne

As you can probably guess from my earlier posts this week, our activities this week have been centered around the bathroom; potty tries, potty successes, potty treats, and, unfortunately, some potty mishaps. Overall, she's doing great. As long as I remind her to go to the potty about every 1 1/2 hours, she stays dry. She loves wearing underwear, and thinks it's great that she gets to pick out which pair of "pannies" she wants to wear every morning. As for me, I'm excited to have a break from diapers, and am enjoying having M & M's in the bathroom. . .

Official Announcement

Effective today, Oct 11, I am officially suspending my campaign to potty train Ellie until such time that we actually have success in the potty. After a full day + an afternoon in panties, we still have yet to actually go in the potty. It was a nice thought.

On the bright side- Connor had his first dry night in underwear!!!! That's a potty-training milestone by itself!

Final Tally

Accidents:4. Successes:0. Overall impression: Equivocal. Some good signs, but with no successes, I'm going to give it one more day. If I see no progress, I'm suspending my campaign.

2 accidents. . oh wait, make that 3

I was just about to blog about our second accident, when Ellie decided to make it 3. At least this time she started prancing around and saying "Potty!! I need Potty!" Maybe we're getting somewhere. . .

Seriously?!?

Ellie woke up from her nap at 12:30. Yes, that is the time she usually falls asleep. I put her in underwear, and she's been dry all afternoon. Unfortunately, she still hasn't gone. Either my daughter has a bladder of iron, or she managed to go somewhere and not get her underwear wet.

Well, nix that. She just came up to me to say "I'm poopy" and there's a puddle on the floor. . .

Another Hour in underwear. .

two potty tries, no accidents and still no success. This afternoon might be interesting.

Potty Training Update

So, we've been at this for about 2 1/2 hours now. I'm trying the "Potty Training in less than a Day" method, so we have the potty doll and lots of treats for dry pants. So far: She loves the treats, hates showing her doll how to use the potty, screamed the last time I had her try the potty, and is asleep in my lap. No successes yet, but she's also been in panties for 2 1/2 hours with no accidents. It's a toss-up at this point.

Wish me Luck. .

Yes, folks, we're going to work on potty training with Ells today. Wish me luck.
