The coming of the Easter Squirrel

Connor has been talking a lot lately about getting a dog. While we love the idea, our current living situation is not such that we can have a dog. We've always gotten around the topic by telling Connor that we have to have a house before we can get a dog. Well, Connor decided that this wasn't coming fast enough. I went to go get my hair done last week, and Connor was playing in my hairdresser's backyard. They were working on a deck awhile ago and had some scrap lumber in their yard. Connor came in holding a big chunk and excitedly told me that he was going to use it to build a house with dad after quiet time so that we could get a dog. Ahhh. . . if only it were that simple. . .

So, it obviously didn't work. But the boys had fun.

Ellie and her BFF, blankie. She takes that thing everywhere.

We were able to go up to DC last weekend for Easter (hence the lack of posting last week). It was really fun to get to spend more time with my awesome aunt and uncle before we left. My cousin Melissa came down from NYC too, which made it even better. It's been so nice to have family that's taken us in on so many holidays. We love you, Kim and Glen!!
We went to go see Mt. Vernon while we were up there:

Hey, at least the kids are looking at the camera.

Maybe we'll just get this house. Plenty of room for a dog here. :)

Connor giving his best "I'm mad" face.

Ellie's hair was cute at one point, I promise.
Meet the Washington's!!

Can't you just see the wheels in Ellie's head turning about how much havoc she could give with George Washington's sword?!?

The awesome view of the Potomac from the house.

My kiddies Easter morning

Connor loved zipping around the house on the scooter. Now he says he wants one for his birthday!

Connor and Blakey had tons of fun playing superheros. Here they are modeling some of their best "Super" poses.

All my cute cousins. Y'all are the best. We'll miss you!!

Since we came back, we've been busy with work (me), school (Jake) and getting ready for our trip to Seattle this week (Jake and I- no kids!) to go find a place to live. We'll miss our babies, but I'm sure they're going to have a lot more fun with Grams than they would being drug to Seattle and then from apartment complex to apartment complex. Thanks so much in advance, Mom, for being willing to come!

I've been waiting for the update on the Easter Squirrel! I still am cracking up about that. Your DC trip looks like tons of fun. I am so jealous. Brian is there this week doing some work at the Pentagon and the Supreme Court. I told him that I wanted to go there so bad. He promised me he would take me sometimes. Hopefully that will be sooner than later!!! I guess it is the cherry blossom festivals this week. Your kids have grown so much!

Hey Abbs! Good luck apartment hunting. If you guys can't find anything right in Seattle, maybe you could consider Provo. I hear the commute isn't too bad.
