Well, we had a great week with too much sugar, not enough sleep, and seemingly not enough time to do everything. I can't believe that Halloween is over and we're on to Christmas. Where's the rest of 2008?!? Anyway, here's the recap of our week: We had so much going on in the evenings this week that it took us 4 tries to finally get our pumpkins carved. This was our most creative- yes, those are "braces" on the pumpkin. Jake's just a machine- he can't stop :). It got a little weird when he was telling me all the technical terms for how he'd bent the archwire on the pumpkin. . .
Ellie decided to play a "trick"- right before we were supposed to leave for the Ortho Dept. Halloween potluck lunch. She emptied almost a whole jar of pliable clay hair stuff- very gunky. I had no choice but to put her in the tub and scrub her down, then do the carpets. Needless to say, we were a little late.
Our little Ballerina and skeleton. This was actually Ellie's second costume (or "costco" as she calls it). She'd been a Mariner's cheerleader for two other Halloween events we'd gone to, but had gotten ketchup all over her costume at the event the night before, necessitating something new. Thanks to Mom and Dad D and a birthday gift from our neighbor, we already had something else that was pretty cute. :)
We went trick-or-treating at a shopping center close to our house. Ells had a good system worked out: she'd take a piece of candy, hurry and unwrap it, stick it in her mouth, and then ask for another piece.

Ellie apparently wasn't done with the tricks or playing dress-up. Yesterday she gave herself a beard out of toothpaste. Naughty!
This upcoming week is going to be crazy- I start my job tomorrow!! I'm nervous, but I have to keep reminding myself that this week is the worst (hospital orientation). Wish me luck!

Ah! How darling. You'll have to tell Jake that I was particularly impressed with the pumpkin. That's great. :)
Good luck tomorrow! I'll make sure to keep you in my prayers. You'll do great, Abby!
That pumpkin with braces is awesome! Did he get a discount?
