What a fun weekend!! After a busy week of self-imposed slave labor (gardening every day and painting a bathroom, to name a few things), it was nice to have a relaxing weekend. Especially nice since I got to spend it with my hunky hubby :). The night before the 4th, three of my high school friends and former roommates were all in town, so we had a little get together. It was so fun to see everyone. We haven't been able to get together for a few years! 
Me and the girls- Alli, Darci, and Kristi. I feel left out- I'm the only one without an "i" on the end of my name. :(
Jake drove all night from Seattle to spend the 4th with us (he arrived at 5:40 am), so he opted to stay and sleep instead of going to the parade. Wuss (Just kidding, honey). My mom and I went with my little sister and the kiddos to the parade by ourselves. Ellie was in heaven. There was music to dance to and they gave out candy! She would stand on the sidewalk and do her "knee bend" dance whenever a marching band or some float playing music would go by. The only time she sat down was to eat candy, as shown below:

Otherwise, she was with Connor watching the action.
We had a family BBQ that evening, and the kids had a blast playing with the cousins. 
Ellie ran around and really liked laying on the lounge chairs. They got so worn out, when we finally put the kids to bed at 9:30 Ellie crawled in bed and started pointing to the light and saying, "Bight, Bight"- as in "Would you turn out the light already so I can sleep?!?"
I turned the big 2-6 today. I know that's not old, but just look at how well lit my cake is!!! It was a pretty low-key birthday (it tends to be when your birthday falls on Fast Sunday!), but that's fine with me. Jake and I went out last night to dinner and a movie. We saw "Get Smart." We loved it- and would recommend it to anyone. I wasn't expecting to laugh as hard as I did! The best part, though, was just having Jake there. I miss you, honey. I can't wait until next week!Well, that's it for this week, folks. I probably won't be blogging next Sunday since we'll be on the road driving to Seattle. We finally get to move in next Monday. Can't wait!!

Happy Birthday to you! I am so glad that you were able to see Jake and that we got to see you too! Wow. This last week will fly by! Call me if you get sleepy on your big drive :)
You know Abby, you could always spell your name "Abbi". It's an interesting spelling too! :) I can't wait to drive to Seattle with you! Uh, never mind. I think it'll be a L-O-N-G drive of cries. Happy Birthday Abby! We thought about you, but didn't call of course. I'm glad Jake was able to come down. I hope he'll be okay with all that driving alone. He's tough. Good luck with your move. We love you. Garrett and Jessica, Alex & Kelly are here for dinner and games. Too bad you can't join us.

Happy Belated Birthday. Yes, I missed it like a long shot. After eating out every July to celebrate your's, Lizzy's, and Molly's birthdays, I thought I had until Monday to wish you a happy birthday, but alas, that is Lizzy's....so sorry. Hope the move to Seattle goes well!
