Alpine

I'm finally doing it- POSTING. Yes. This is an actual post. I'm eeking one in for August!! Go me! It will probably be at least a three-part series getting caught up, so bear with me. At least you get episode one. :) We have had a busy few weeks, but my main reason for not blogging is merely being tired. I'm tired so I'm not as efficient, thus not getting as much done during the day and needing to do it at night before I collapse comatose into my bed. That's the other thing - I just want to sleep. I guess since I'm getting so close to having this baby I'm justified. Yup.

At the end of July, we were able to go to my family's annual reunion in Alpine, WY. We were all really excited to be able to go since we had to miss the reunion last year. Connor was talking about going to Alpine weeks beforehand. Nothin' better than family, good food not cooked by you, and mountain air!!
The kids thought it was really neat that Mom let them leave the cabin in their jammies. They don't even get to watch cartoons in their jammies, so this was new territory!

The entire Johnson clan. Yes, we're a big group. All some of my favorite people ever.

Connor found that my cousin's little boy was almost exactly the same age and had many similar interests, including playing swords.

We always have a "dance" as part of our scheduled activities. This year, it was a "Gala Ball" in honor of this being the 20th year of Alpine. Ellie got to get dressed up in a princess dress, dance, eat candy, and stay up way past her bedtime. I don't think she's had a better night!!

My handsome knight :)

Like all good things, Alpine ended after a mere two days. Trying to make the trip more memorable (ok, so I just really wanted ice cream and used the "making memories" card to get it), we stopped in Swan Valley, ID on the way back to my parent's house for some square ice cream. This convenience store has special ice cream scoops that make your ice cream square. The kids weren't nearly as impressed with it as I thought they'd be.
We got back to IF and were treated to a fish fry by my Uncle Jerry. He really makes some of the best fried halibut I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, I like seafood, but this is the only kind of seafood I drool over. In fact, I need a paper towel now just thinking about it. . .

Looks like fun Abby! clark and I stopped for square ice cream last summer. If it weren't for childhood memories I'd really feel like we were being ripped off:) Now I want to know how the Spokane trip went.

Well I feel like I've been robbed. To this day I have never had a square ice cream cone and I live pretty close to Swan Valley! :) I feel like loading up the kids right now to go get one.
